Japan's Strategy for New Growth: The Scenario of the "Genki-na Nihon" Reconstruction Campaign

The Strategy for New Growth comprises of the follow key areas for growth: "Green Innovation", "Life Innovation", "Asian Economy" and "Tourism/Local Area." Strategies are to be implemented that form the basis of support for these, including "Science, Technology and Telecommunications", "Employment and Human Resources" and "Finance."

Targets for the Special Area

Qualitative Targets

Aim to package industry and technology related to urban environment infrastructures that Japan has cultivated as a country that is already well-equipped to deal with global environmental issue, further promote new creations in the green innovation provided to various cities in Asia, incorporate Asia's vitality, deploy these from Asia to the world and grow alongside Asia.

Numerical Targets

Significantly increase industrial turnover centering on the environment by playing a leading role in Japan's green innovation. Aim to increase turnover by around 5 trillion yen, approximately 10% of the target of creating new markets worth over 50 trillion yen by 2020 through the green innovation stated in Japan's strategy for new growth.
