Results
A reduction in the rate of leakage through operation and maintenance that supports the meshes of water distribution networks (water distribution blocks), a type of technology (know how) unique to Kitakyushu City.

- Conclusion of a basic agreement for collaboration and cooperation in the field of water supplies with major water treatment company Metawater.
- Conclusion of a memorandum on the safe supply of water between Cambodia and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (with the participation of Kitakyushu City in talks)
- Conclusion of a memorandum on technological exchanges in the field of sewerage with Hai Phong Sewerage and Drainage Company (Vietnam)
- Request for Kitakyushu City Waterworks Bureau and Hamagin Research Institute,Ltd. to undertake a project to supplement the basic design of a water treatment plant in Cambodia's Siem Reap City.
【Fiscal 2011】
- Kitakyushu Water business seminar held in Dalian City, China
- Concluded a memorandum on exchanging technology in the field of sewerage with the Dalian City Construction Management Bureau, China
- Kitakyushu's mayor gave the keynote speech at the Japan Business Forum of the 2011 Singapore International Water Week (July), a global water event (the first time the major of a municipality has given a speech here)）
- A study relating to exports of treated wastewater between western Australia and Kitakyushu City was selected as a Support Project for Pioneering Public-Private Collaboration by the Japanese government (MLIT) (investigations aimed at commercializing water transportation)
- Kitakyushu City received an informal request to provide consultation work to Cambodia's Senmonorom City for a water supply project, covering all aspects from basic planning to construction and management (official contract scheduled to be made in October of this year)
- Cambodia decides to present the mayor with "Royal Order of Sahametrei, Grand Cross" as a token of appreciation for Kitakyushu's technical assistance in the field of water supplies (September 2011)
